INTRODUCING
Marci Boyce
Listing & Marketing Coordinator
Location: Hermosa Beach, California
Company: Kaminsky Real Estate Group
Duration: 6 Weeks
Entering an industry I don't have experience in and the opportunities for growth.
Manage all listing documents, lead in all marketing for the property and fostering client relationships.
A perfect day in my role would consist of me getting to the office at 830am. I would spend roughly 1 hour catching up on all emails from the night before and adding tasks to my daily task sheet. I would then do my reach out to clients and update them on all things marketing related and addressing any questions I have regarding their property. I would provide showing feedback and/or scheduled home tour feedback. I attend internal meetings daily between 10am and 12am (sales mtg, escrow mtg, marketing mtg, team mtg) and if "perfect" would take my lunch right after.
I would then spend the afternoon working on listing agreements, setting up stagers and photographers, and coordinating sale signs to go up. Depending on the day and what marketing materials are needed, I work with our Creative Director to make sure we are staying on the timeline for deliverables.
I am implementing new processes and procedures since the company is fairly small and we are starting to expand so I would also use this time to work on some ad hoc projects. I end my day by creating my daily task sheet for the following day and "perfectly" walk out the door at 5pm.
Some things that have popped up and/or derailed my work flow consist of the following: not knowing the process for certain tasks and needing someone to actually show me the process (downfall of not having industry experience and lack of training material available), missing forms and/or signatures on listing agreements, wrong name/s on listing agreements due to the property being in a trust, clients reaching out with concerns regarding staging, photos, signs, showing instructions and/or scheduled open houses as well as agents dropping the ball in their work flow and asking for help.
...how well this industry is doing during a pandemic as well as all of the details that go into buying/selling a home.
I work in a private office where our desks are separated by plexiglass and everyone is wearing masks. I do get out of the office to meet with vendors and clients regularly.
Being organized and prompt while staying adaptable and flexible. Time management is crucial here and my experience working in several different industries throughout my working experience have allowed me to be extremely resourceful. My experience in face to face interaction with high-end vendors and clients is essential when dealing with clients who are selling/buying homes in the $1-10M range.

I impact the company's success by showing up! Offering assistance where I can and being a complete sponge during my first 90 days. Try learning a new role, with a new company while simultaneously learning a new language. I impact the clients by over-communicating details regarding their property, so they are never left wondering what exactly we are doing to represent their home to the market.
Executive Assistant to the President
Become an agent or broker.
No, although I am currently studying for my Real Estate License exam as there are incentives regarding pay and commissions once I complete the exam. I don't think my "education" was a factor however, my heavy experience in handling high-end clients was a main point of interest during my interview process.
CRMLS, Property Base, Outlook, Calendly, Excel, DocuSign, DropBox, Mailchimp. I didn't know a couple of these programs but my resourcefulness (YouTube) has helped answer many questions I've had along the way.
Take it! Learn something new and step our of your comfort zone; that is where the real magic happens.
