Stay in-the-know when you are on-the-go.

Being a top-producing real estate agent isn’t easy, we know. Juggling showings, clients’ needs, and a demanding market can bog you down. The real estate market changes daily and so does the world around us. Knowing what is going on in the world and keeping up with current events is key to fully understanding the real estate market as well as coming across as informed and professional.  That’s why we want to share two apps that will make staying in-the-know easier and faster.

Sure, you can go to CNN.com or Huffington Post but who has time to sort through the celeb gossip and murder stories to get to the news you can use? Only 29% of Americans read the newspaper, according to Pew Research.  Here are a couple of resources that we love for helping us staying in-the-know.

Flipboard

Download Flipboard to your Android or Apple devices for better-to-read news, entertainment, and sports on the go. The beautiful interface of the app puts your news in an easy-to-read format right on your phone. You choose what kind of news you want to read, too. Sick of being sucked into social media? Use Flipboard to view your favorite social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Make it a habit to open Flipboard first thing in the morning—instead of Facebook—and the news and topics you care about are available first.

TheSkimm

Don't have time to read the news? Sign up for theSkimm newsletter, and you'll receive the news right in your inbox at 5:59 a.m. each day. This daily newsletter will allow you to skim the news in your email inbox. The company says that they read the news, so you don't have to (even though we think you should). The top news stories around the world are shortened to five to six sentences. It will keep you informed enough so you can be a part of a conversation in the office without feeling like you don't know what is going on in the world.

Use these two tools to stop feeling bogged down by televised news or distracted by your Facebook friends' posts. Take that time you spend on social media and turn it into time you spend informing yourself about the world around you. Use theSkimm to save you time and Flipboard to inform you of the news that matters to you.
